Hi, my name is Brooke.
I am 25 years old and this is my small business.
I have always had a cat with me from the day I was born, I actually had two. Mickey and Minney. Minney ended up running away when I was about 5-6 and mickey ended up passing away a few years later ... my world was shattered.
We then go on to move to a farm where I had all the cats I wanted! Unfortunately I had to see and go through the difference of having a indoor cat to outdoor cats.
I couldn't control if they were going to be there in the morning before I went to school or if a couple went missing. In the winters I would make sure if there were kittens that I would find them, make sure they were taken care of and make sure they all had somewhere warm to go. I climbed trees onto unsteady roofs, I would climb into small gross spaces and even try to sneak out past curfew just to find them and make sure they were safe, I may have even snuck a couple in the house(sorry mom!).
I had this attachment growing up because I felt like I connected with them and they connected with me and sometimes they would be the only ones by my side when I needed it the most.
When I was 18 I had officially moved to the city and one day driving down a street by a McDonald's I saw a little black kitten following a group of teenagers. I told my friend to pull over and he did. I got out and said "Hey! Is that your cat?!" and the kids replied "No, but it's been following us for a while!"
Right then is when I picked up this little thin kitten and brought her home with me(after no one stepped up to claim her), CC has been my best friend for 8 years now and is very, very spoiled and loved.
I have volunteered at different shelters in the city, helped with fundraisers and had recently found out about a shelter just for cats! I fell in love when I heard about it and went there a few days later and asked to start helping with whatever I could. I learned more about this shelter in 4 days than I could imagine. The realness of these cats on the streets, the effort this shelter puts in and the amazing people behind it! I started by trying to create a fresh new logo for them and then some new cool looking pamphlets and now I took my passion a step further. I created Kitty Corner Shop to live my passion and at the same time to help support SCAT.
Street Cat Rescue Program.
Welcome to my dream and follow me on my journey!
